Special prix fixe menus to showcase the culinary prowess and creativity of Evanston restaurants.
The Evanston Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the first-ever Evanston Restaurant Week, March 18–26, 2016. Participating restaurants will offer custom prix fixe menus for lunch and/or dinner to give individuals a taste of why Evanston’s growing restaurant scene has earned national media acclaim.
“Evanston has become Chicagoland’s premier dining destination,” says Michael Pure, owner of The Margarita Inn and member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “We have an impressive variety of restaurants where even the most discerning foodie can indulge … and price-conscious families in search of healthy and hearty choices for their finicky eaters will enjoy a night out together.”
Evanston Restaurant Week has been uniquely structured to afford price consistency and accessibility. Participating restaurants will offer prix fixe menus for lunch at $20, and/or dinner at $30 and $40. As Pure explains, less expensive dining options are developing prix fixe menus for two.
Evanston’s diverse range in cuisines include the fine-dining culinary experiences of restaurants like Oceanique, Found and KOI; the dynamic menu creations of trendy options like Boltwood, Peckish Pig and Tapas Barcelona; as well as neighborhood comfort cravings such as Bat 17, Edzo’s and YoFresh Yogurt Café. And many more restaurants have agreed to participate and will sign up soon.
“While we are grateful to the Evanston Chamber and, in particular, it’s Restaurant Committee for planning and leading this initiative,” adds Pure, “we could not have extended this event without the support of our sponsors: Gordon Food Service, Highland Baking Company, and Sammic Corp.
Restaurants are in the process of designing their menus and signing up to participate in ERW. To view current participants and for more information on Evanston Restaurant Week, visit www.evchamber.com/restaurant-week.
