Even When They Aren’t

[AMAGANSETT, NEW YORK] – Taking kids out to dinner can sometimes be very stressful, especially if you have a picky eater on your hands. The Lobster Roll restaurant in Amagansett, New York, can help make the experience not only easier, but enjoyable.

The Lobster Roll, affectionately known as LUNCH, offers an extensive children’s menu featuring “land” and “sea” options, as well as classic kid’s meal staples. The menu also features gluten-free options for kids, such as gluten-free Chicken Fingers, and sandwiches made with a gluten-free roll. The restaurant provides “color-in” placemats with crayons, and age appropriate toys for the little guests. Highchairs and booster seats are also available.

“We welcome families with young kids here,” said Andrea Anthony, Co-Owner. “Taking kids out to a restaurant can be a challenge; I’m a mom, so I definitely get it. That’s why we have our motto: “We are always kid-friendly, even when they aren’t”

The motto stems from an incident several years ago, when a child was given a toy to play with by Andrea’s Son Daniel, who was working as a waiter at the time. The child proceeded to throw the toy back at him, striking Daniel in the back of the head. Andrea’s Son, now a Graphic Artist, has created a cartoon video to depict the event! “This is our way of reminding our guests that we are always child-friendly and will do our part to entertain them.” Said Andrea. The kid’s menu ranges in price from $6.95 to $12.95. All meals are served with a choice of French fries, corn on the cob or roasted new potatoes, and a complimentary fountain beverage is included.

“Our most popular children’s meals are, of course, the Chicken Fingers and Mac ‘n’ Cheese,” Anthony said. “But we do see a lot of kids ordering seafood dishes, like the Fish ‘n’ Chips, the Lobster Salad Slider, Fried Shrimp, etc. It’s interesting to see many of our young guests enjoying menu items beyond the old standbys. We also accommodate various food allergies and will do our part to

service individual needs. There are no peanuts in house and we fry in 100% pure canola oil.”

The kid’s menu is available during all hours, as well as the regular menu and the gluten-free menu.

The Lobster Roll will close for the 2018 season on Tuesday, October 23.

About The Lobster Roll Amagansett

The Lobster Roll was purchased in 1965 by Frederick H. Terry, Senior, and his dad, Richard C. Terry, Senior, when it was a tiny roadside clam shack on the Napeague stretch. In 1978, Andrea Anthony joined forces with Fred and, three years later, Paul DeAngelis came on board. Nearly five decades after opening, Andrea and Paul (both former restaurant management professors) maintain current ownership and management operations of this busy summer eatery. The Lobster Roll has transformed over the years, through several expansions, but remains the quintessential indoor/outdoor summer eatery, attracting locals, celebrities, day-trippers, and travelers from all over the globe.
